Keep in mind what we have said before about children, plants and animals; they need special care, more than any other thing.

Keep within reach some emergency kit boxes, the things for your personal hygiene, and your personal belongings. Carry with you the boxes containing documents and valuables, and always keep an eye on them. Be careful with boxes containing medicines too; many of them need some controlled temperature, so avoid leaving them in the car. If you have a portable refrigerator, use it to keep their temperature controlled during the removal.

Even if you have chosen to entrust your removal to a company, it's wise to be there when the removal is performed, so to check that no one piece of furniture will be damaged during the operations. If some problem occurs, advise the person in charge immediately. The removal company can't deny the owner's presence during the operations; if they do, be suspicious of them. The best way to avoid any trouble is to film the quantity and condition of your furniture, in particular the antique and valuable pieces. If you don't have a cinecamera, make a detailed list of your belongings taking care to note any scrape or bump.

Before leaving your home, keep in mind to read the following metres:

• gas
• electricity
• water
• any other service

Close the gas and the water and switch off the electric power source.

When you arrive at the new home, be careful to give priority to children, plants and animals. Check scrupulously the condition of the furniture and any other objects; if there is something wrong, notify the removal company immediately. Open the boxes containing the most useful objects and store them as soon as the furniture is assembled.

When the furniture is assembled, if some objects are still unstored and you want to get rid of them, you can put them for sale in the apposite section of this site (in Italian) where you can also buy anything you require.

Nevertheless there will still be a lot of things to do, you mustn't lose heart; everything will be the same and better than before. It's only a question of time; within a few weeks you'll be able to enjoy your new home.
